Abstracted Floral Paintings
I describe these paintings as abstracted because, for the most part, there are no real flowers represented here except perhaps in a vague sort of way. No reference photos are used. Rather they are painted from my own imagination, from memories or impressions. And yet, they can clearly be interpreted as floral. Layers of acrylic paint are built up, beautiful colours chosen, lighter and darker values are added to create a sense of light and depth, perhaps some drama and voila! flowers that last forever are born!
