On The Rock

In July 2024 I travelled to Newfoundland for a self-directed artist residency. My goal was to explore how to capture the feeling of the landscape in an abstract way, a project made possible through the award of the Reed T. Cooper bursary from the Dufferin Arts Council. I can't begin to explain how valuable this experience was to my art practice and I am very grateful to both the Cooper family and the Dufferin Arts Council for this opportunity. I have created three main series of paintings based on the majestic rock cliffs, the fabulous fog and the beautiful mists and a few others, just because.
